Share the Gospel

Dear Church Family,

I talked about our need to share the gospel last Sunday, and the subject is still on my mind. So, I want to write just a bit about it.

evangelism-fishIn John chapter one, we read in verses 3-5 “All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend (overpower) it.”

From these verse, I’m reminded that our duty is to dispel the darkness of the world we live in. People all around us are living in darkness and don’t know it.

As we think of our duty, let me give some things that I read this week as a reminder.

1. Hell will be a place of unquenchable fire.
2. Heaven is a place of holiness.
3. Hell will be a place of memory and remorse.
4. Heaven is a place of beauty.
5. Hell will be a place of thirst.
6. Heaven will be a place where we never thirst.
7. Heaven is a place of unity.
8. Hell will be place of misery and pain.
9. Heaven is a place of no sickness and pain.
10. Hell will be a place of frustration and anger.
11. Heaven is a place of joy.
12. Hell will be a place of separation.
13. Heaven is a place where all the saints will be.
14. Hell will be a place of undiluted divine wrath.
15. Heaven is a place of perfection.
16. Hell will be a place originally prepared for Satan and his host.
17. Heaven is a place shared by the holy angels.
18. Hell will be a place created for all eternity.
19. Heaven is a place that will last forever where God will be.
20. Heaven is a place where God’s glory will shine.

God’s desire is that we glorify Him and worship Him!

However, the lost can do neither!!!!!!!!!!

What are we prepared to do?

Vacation Bible School

Hello Church Family!

Vacation Bible School is almost here.  The adventure starts up at 9am on the June 9th.  Just 10 more days. We still need a few more volunteers.  VBS is Monday-Friday 9am-12:30 but if you can help anytime we can fit you in.

To teachers and other leaders: I will be placing our final order for shirts and other VBS related stuff, so if you want anything please let me know.

Parents: please register your children ASAP.  There are registration forms at church or download one by clicking here.

Please keep our VBS and the volunteers in your prayers and please be especially in prayer for the children.  We have children registered that are not from Christian families and VBS is a great opportunity for us to show the love of Christ.

Thank you

Win The Lost

Dear Church Family,

I want to say a few things about the main thing we are to do other than worship God. Win the lost!

The reason to be a soul winner is:

1. There is no other way and no other name given except Jesus. A part of Romans 10:14 helps us to remember what we are to do. “How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have heard?”

2. God did not just give us a suggestion; it is a command. Mt.28:18-20 “…Go therefore and make disciples…”

3. It is in our power to do it! Proverbs 3:27 “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.” If
salvation doesn’t fall under “good,” then nothing does.

4. Judgment is coming! 2Corinthians 5:11 “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men…”

5. The responsibility is on us. Ezekiel 3:18-19 was not written to us, but we can apply it to this subject. “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die’; and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet if you have warned the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself.” Now, remember I said this is for application. What we should learn from this is that God gives those that are His A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF RESPONSIBILITY. Use it wisely.

6. To be a soul winner we must have compassion. Jude 22 “And some have compassion, making a difference.” KJV

Some may say I don’t know how. Please don’t let that be an excuse. We all know how we got saved; just tell people what happened to you. Yes, we do need to know some Scripture, but I don’t think that is the real reason we don’t share the gospel with a lost and dying world.

About Mothers

Dear Church Family,

I’m little late writing this week, and this will be brief. I said on Sunday I would write something about mothers this week.

So I have just three thoughts…

I’ve said to you many times that what you do speaks more clearly to children than anything you could ever teach them, and I think most would agree.

I think that a mother, and all of us for that matter, should have a CLEAN mouth. Eph.4:29 “Let no unwholesome word proceed from you mouth, BUT only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

The “but” in this verse could read “instead.” Well that’s what should cause us to think before we speak. As for me, I usually speak and then think, bad habit!

I would say that no one needs grace more than our children. So, my point is to think about how we could speak in such a manner that it gives more GRACE to the ones hearing.

The next thought has to do with the mind. Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of MIND let each of you regard one another as more important than himself.”

Our problem begins with the mind. If we think first, as I said already, with HUMILITY of mind then we will put others first, especially our children.

Scripture says, “…God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

Last thought is about a clear conscience. The writer of Hebrews said, “Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things. Heb.13:8

My point here is that a mother should be forgiven and forgiving. If one does not clear their conscience, it will at some point in life bring about bitterness. Bitterness will not only damage the one that is bitter, but it will also damage those around them.

Children will SEE that in your life and learn it from you.

So, have a Clean Mouth, a Clean Mind, and a Clear Conscience.

Hey, good for all of us!!!!!

Most Important Verse in the Bible, Part 2

Dear Church Family,

You did a great job with what (I) think is the most important verse in the Bible. All verses are important, and you named some. The verse I have in mind is one that I think the whole of the Bible hinges on. If we remove the verse I have in mind, then all the others lose their significance. This one verse changes one’s world view, and if it is not true, nothing else matters! If you believe this one verse you can establish all the truth of the rest of the Bible.

If you choose not to believe this verse, and it is a choice, the world view you choose is as good or bad as anyone else has. When one chooses to ignore this verse, then one is free to do as he or she jolly well pleases. When this verse is ignored, mankind becomes no better than my dog.

Now I love my dog, and he love me, sometimes it seems he is the only one that does. That’s a joke just in case you didn’t get it. However, he never prays over his food, he never thinks any kind of physical relationship is wrong, or for that matter anything he can get away with would be wrong.

I also have a horse, well, some horses, but one stallion I have only has two things on his mind food and you know the other. As to the other, he doesn’t care who it is, as long as it is a horse, pretty, ugly, nice, old, young, and in some cases male or female!

Now he is the way God made him, no morals.

We, on the other hand were made with morals. They are built in, Romans 2:14 “For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do INSTINCTIVELY the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, v.15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their HEARTS, their CONSCIENCE bearing witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, v.16 on the day when according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.” If you did not notice, this is one sentence. The caps are mine.

Now, we are different than my dog and stallion; God has written His Law in our hearts. WE KNOW BETTER!

But, we can sear our conscience to the point where what is wrong seems right, and what is right seems wrong.

If murder is wrong, why?
If stealing is wrong, why?
Where do we get the idea that anything that we want to do is okay? We have to create our own god to meet the needs of our conscience.

Well, I cannot go on and on, the most important verse in the Bible is Genesis 1:1. If this verse is true, and I believe it is, then we are accountable to a Holy God, and if He can create everything that is in six days, and send Jesus to die for us, then we must receive Him or be forever in our sins.

It is our choice! Adam and Eve chose wrong. Will You?

By the way, I do not believe there is any distance between Gen.1:1 and Gen.1:2. I believe in six 24 hour days! if you believe the days were longer than 24 hour each, you have to get that from somewhere other than the Bible.

In His Service With You,
Pastor Daryl

Most Important Verse in the Bible

Dear Church Family,

This week I want you to think about the most important verse in the Bible. In fact, I want you to email me the most important verse in the Bible, that is, if you know it, and I will write about the verse next week. Hint: It’s not found in Isaiah!!

Until Then,
Pastor Daryl

Real Peace and How to Find It

Dear Church Family,

I left you hanging last week with King Solomon failing to find peace the world’s way.

This week I want to share how to find peace. I said last week you only have to look in one place for peace, and that place is a person, Jesus.

His method is TRANSFORMATION which will leave you completely satisfied in this life and the next.

Peace through Jesus is a spiritual transformation. Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be born again. “…truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 Well, we all know this is true, but what we often do is act upon that information and settle where we will spend eternity, but LIVE like it is not true.

Jesus said, …I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.” If this is true, then why do we look for peace in all the wrong places?

I submit to you that we are still caught up in trying to live like the world says we should. The world says we change from the outside in. That is the things on our outside will give us peace on the inside. The truth is that we only find real peace when we change from the inside out. Jeremiah says, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick” The only cure is Jesus!

When we have a spiritual transformation, we receive Forgiveness of ALL our sins Ephesians 1:7, Love 1 John 4:16, Peace 2 Thess.3:16, Joy Gal.5:22 and Heaven. Rev.21:1-6

Now, let me be fast to say that does not mean we will not have trouble in this life; we will. The Bible says we will have Trials, Persecution, and Tribulation, BUT, WHEN WE HAVE REAL PEACE, WE CAN GO THROUGH THESE THINGS. King Solomon said, “I hate life” well, that’s because he was looking for peace in all the wrong places.

Jesus said drink from his well and never be thirsty again!!!!!!!!

God Bless You,
Pastor Daryl
